Bag Lady Brittle?

I have been telling my family for weeks that I would make them some homemade peanut brittle.

Well, late yesterday evening I finally got that candy made.
Yummy, rich, buttery and chocked full of peanuts, and a fab snack to munch on while watching Survivor and Criminal Minds.

Yep, while stirring up this sugary mixture I was thinking I should fill up some brown paper bags and peddle me some candy!

A.D.D equals too many Blogs!!

Kyms Connections
Calico Kym
Vintage Hen
Mixed Blessings
Writer's Block
Candy Girl
Thriftin Away, this one has my favorite background wall paper.
and the latest The Vintage Hen.....the first one didnt have the in the title..
I have too many blogs!! I reckon I need to remedy such a dilemma.

Well, after all I do have ADD....... that's my story or my excuse anyway..haha
So, with that being said, I need to somehow compile the info I have posted in all the above blogs into one main blog.
Even as I type this, my mind is already forming another blog title, but I must fight against the urge.

Treasure hunting at home

Cold weather and the lack of yard or garage sales can't stop
a die hard treasure hunter!
Just dig through your own cabinets and closets! Heck you never know
what you might find.
I had forgotten I even had these spiffy Ice Capade booklets. The blue one has the cool Disney graphics on the back.

I found these vintage, still in the package, cookie cutters tucked away in the kitchen cabinet way behind all my spices.

Although not hidden away, this vintage lunchbox has become a neat place to store all my favorite recipes.

New Old Stuff..........

Time for a Fresh New Blog to suit me to a T.

Since I was born in 1963, I am vintage.
Always the mother hen with two grown children and mamaw Kym to Ada and Macy, hence The Vintage Hen.
Collecting vintage stuff is my passion.
Enamelware, glassware, bakeware, aprons,tablecloths, cookbooks,
vanity stuff, vintage Christmas, Easter, and Halloween are just a few things I love to collect.
But the things I collect these days have to pass the function-ability test so that I can use all those nifty old vintage things in some fashion.

Happy Spring

Sometimes the sun is out and the air is warm.
The next day may bring freezing temperatures and
a snow flake or two.
It's spring time in Kentucky!

Spring Cleaning

by Susan Reiner

March bustles in on windy feet
And sweeps my doorstep and my street.
She washes and cleans with pounding rains,
Scrubbing the earth of winter stains.
She shakes the grime from carpet green
Till naught but fresh new blades are seen.
Then, house in order, all neat as a pin,
She ushers gentle springtime in.

Grab a broom and chase away those winter blahs and the cobwebs too!

Sunny days look brighter through clean windows.

Here's a window cleaning tip from the Hen.

For a no-streak shine use 1/4 cup Corn Starch to a gallon of warm water.

Make sure your cleaning and drying towels are free from oily residue.
